The brief for the project was a full renovation, including the internal reconfiguration of two bedrooms and one bathroom into two bedrooms with en-suites and an additional powder room, as well as doubling the size of the existing kitchen. The client desired the feel of continuity throughout the apartment, which it previously lacked from a dated and unviable layout. We achieved a notable increase in the living space and helped the client bring the maximum potential out of the property. The maisonette has a generously sized rear patio which required further integration with the kitchen and dining area. When reconfiguring the kitchen, we also reconfigured the garden, making it a focal point of interest from the living space. We integrated the outdoors with the indoors, so in the warmer months, the combined space could provide an open plan space, ideal for entertaining plenty of family and friends.

As the client was living abroad, we managed the entire process, ensuring the project was completed within budget and within the program with our team. As in most of our projects, the key was also to maximize the available space, which was successfully achieved also thanks to the carefully designed bespoke joinery throughout.

Design details to the joinery included suede inlays and panels and a selection of colour finishes that unified each element of the interior design scheme, ensuring that the outcome was sleek and smart. The floor was replaced throughout with new timber and underfloor heating. The revised layout of the bathrooms permitted us to bring some Italian design influence, with bespoke hand-picked stone slabs installed on the wall and floor, engendering elegance and continuity. The style of the completed project was both contemporary and classic and enhanced the charm of the property to its maximum potential.
